It’s a great Mammut Stoney Jacket for riding a bike in cold temperatures. The heat builds up inside and keeps me warm. I’ve used it while biking in thirty-degree temps with only a dress shirt underneath and have felt warm. In even colder temps, I’ve worn a fleece or sweater underneath and have been comfy while riding to work. The only problem is that the jacket doesn’t really breathe, so your perspiration kind of builds up on the inside of the Mammut Stoney Jacket and can be a little wet. Pit zips help, but are only a slight improvement.
I just got the mammut stoney jacket sale for light-weight backpacking. I usually take a large or large tall. In my experience rain jackets are normally fairly roomy. This one is fairly snug. Another light jacket under it makes it a bit tight. The sleeves are long enough. I may order an x-large so I can layer underneath it and use the large for warm-weather hikes where I won’t have a warm layer underneath the jacket. Can’t give any testimonials as to the water repellentcy of the mammut men stoney jacket as of yet, I just took it out of the box. So far so good.
This mammut stoney jacket salamander is fantastic simply. Having recently utilized it on the wettest weekend break on Dartmoor I’ve ever experienced I could securely say that it allows no drinking water in whatsoever. Regardless of the weather being cold relatively, sometimes I was putting on this and a foundation layer and was as well hot! (Luckily the pit zips had been excellent at cooling me down quick). In short sunshine spells it dried completely within 5 minutes and it packs right down to the same dimension as a large apple company- an ultralight one. Essentially, a recommended purchase for a good price. Once again, done well mammut stoney jacket men!
